Practice recordings
Record a take. Share it
with the band instantly.
Record rehearsal takes directly in Strofa — no third-party app. Private or shared with the band. New members can listen to how the band plays the song the moment they log in.
Record
One tap to record. No app switching needed.
Tap the 🎙 microphone button in the song view to open the recording sheet. Hit record and the iPad microphone starts capturing. The recording runs while you play through the song on stage or at rehearsal — you can still see the chord chart during recording.
Recordings are labelled with the song name, date and a take number automatically. You can add a note — "second run, correct tempo", "acoustic version in D" — to help distinguish takes later.
When you stop recording, the file is saved locally and uploaded to cloud storage in the background. The upload completes within a few seconds for typical rehearsal-length takes (up to two hours).
- In-app recording via iPad or iPhone microphone
- Chord chart visible during recording
- Auto-labelled with song + date + take number
- Optional note per take
- Uploaded to cloud in the background
- Up to 10 recordings per song (private or band)
- Maximum recording length: 2 hours
Recordings can be private (only you) or shared with the band. Band recordings appear for all band members in the song view — no email, no Dropbox, no "can you send me the file?" New members added to the band can immediately listen to all existing band recordings.
Up to 10 recordings per song in the private library and another 10 in the band library. Maximum recording length 2 hours per take. Files are stored on secure EU cloud storage and available as long as your Strofa subscription is active.
Share
The band's version, available the moment you log in.
Mark a recording as "Band" when you save it, and it's immediately available to every band member in the song view. No sharing steps, no link, no email — it just appears. This is the most direct way to say "this is how we play this song".
It's especially useful for subs and new members. Instead of recording a demo on your phone and sending it via WhatsApp, you share it directly in Strofa. The new bassist can listen to how the arrangement works while reading the chord chart — both in the same place, on the same screen.
Recordings are also useful for reviewing your own performance. Record the last song of rehearsal, listen back on the way home and note what needs work. The recording is tied to the song, so next rehearsal you'll find it exactly where you left it — not buried in your voice memo app.
